Is Hemp Oil or Hemp Seed Oil The Same As CBD Oil?
No, CBD oil is quite different from hemp oil and hemp seed oil. CBD oil is a different derivative of the cannabis plant that has been shown to have a range of health benefits. Hemp seed oil is made by cold pressing the seeds of the hemp plant, whereas hemp oil is made from the hemp flower.
These benefits include reducing anxiety, improving sleep, pain relief, and reduced inflammation.
Hemp oil, on the other hand, is made from the industrial hemp plant. In general, neither CBD oil or hemp oil contain THC, and as such, contain no psychoactive effects.

Hmmmm I wonder if Harvey might like this? His kitty joints are getting old and at the moment he has green mussel sprinkled on his meat (IF he feel like eating it!!!)
Green mussel is also awesome stuff! My Ginger looooved the taste of both, but she never discriminated against anything edible! š
I’m definitely going to let my mom know about the benefits of hemp seed oil. Her older dog has joint pain and it sounds like this may be helpful for her. Great info, thank you!
You’re so welcome! š
I never knew any of this! What great information. I’m going to check into it as I do have some dogs that are getting older.
I’m all about making life easier for senior pups <3
I have heard a lot of good things about CBD Oil, but haven’t tried it with Ruby. I haven’t heard about Hemp Seed Oil – and probably would .have assumed they were the same thing until reading your post. We haven’t tried either one, but are considering it as Ruby has some mild arthritis. I’m going to tweet this, too.
Thanks for sharing! I came across the benefits when looking for help for my 15 year old tripawd Ginger last year after her amputation, and it made a world of difference while she was healing.
You know anything ’bout if this oil is good for kitties? I have zero troubles with my joints but my sister Tobias is older than me and she had a rough start to life, bein’ feral and livin’ on her own, OUTSIDE, for a few years. The peeps often worry she might have joint pains, sometimes. purrs
It sure is good for kitties, so your sweet sister will be good to go! š
Layla gets Hemp Hearts in her food and when stressed or we going to an event I give her CBD oil and swear by it. It relaxes her perfectly.
Awesome! I love hearing that!
This is one of the things I’m keeping on a back burner for when I might need a solution when conventional or integrative medicine doesn’t have one.
It was a huge help when our 15 year old Ginger had cancer and surgery to try and remove the tumor. The vet wanted to keep her on Rimadyl and Prednisone for moooonths to help with mobility We eventually switched to more natural therapies with her new vet because she started getting side effects of sores and bladder issues, and it made things 1000% better for her, luckily.
My dogs have tried CBD oil a couple of times, but I didn’t see a difference. One of my dogs is pretty excitable all the time and gets anxious in the car, at the vet’s, etc. I wonder if the hemp seed oil would help her.
With CBD oil, I have to build up to a level I just start to notice Rico being less anxious, and then keep him at that level, since it takes some time to build up. It takes the edge of scary car rides for him.
I’ve heard of hemp oil before however not familiar with it’s uses. I’ve only heard that people use it to as a natural method of relieving ailments. Nice to know it works for furkids too. Nice alternative to traditional medicines.
I’m all about trying to do natural support when possible <3 Anything to make life easier and healthier!
I didn’t know about hemp seed oil. Thanks for clarifying this. Buffy currently doesn’t have arthritis, but when she gets it, I’ll consider giving this to her.
Happy to help!
I have heard about both and brought home some Hemp treats for Gusto. I use Hemp seeds in my own foods. I am curious though…is there a purity rating for the different oils under different labels? How do you determine the efficacy of these oils other than by using them? At least there is no placebo effect with our pets…lol
This is great — our humans eat hemp seeds so why shouldn’t dogs get to try this healthful product! Thanks for the info!
